pastoral transition workshop

the first pastoral transition is often considered to be one of the most vulnerable, but also one of the most important transitions undergone by a faith community. recognizing the challenges associated with this time in the life of edges, and also the opportunities for strengthening our community, we have partnered with a consultant, jim ozier, who is known across the country for his work with methodist churches in transition, especially those for whom this is their first time through this process.  he will be working with the edges leadership teams throughout the year, and will also be supporting our community and the next pastor of the edges community into the fall of 2020.

jim will be visiting us in blacksburg from october 4-6, and we would like to invite everyone in the edges community to participate!

saturday morning
october 5th

jim will be hosting a workshop called ‘the change-over zone’ which will help to clarify the pastoral transition process and prepare our community to step into a new phase of life together. this workshop will be held in the worship space at edges. we will have a light breakfast together starting at 8:30, and the workshop will be from 9 am - 12 pm.

childcare will be available during that time.

we hope that you will be able to join us on october 5 to learn more and dream together about the ‘nexts’ for our community.
